The only universe in which this hotel would be a 4-star one is in the Soviet era. While it is very centrally and conveniently located, it is very dated. The staff don’t know what a smile is and their first answer to whatever you want to ask is “no”, before you even finish your phrase; they would very much benefit from a “Customer Service” course —or, at the very least a “Listen and pretend to care” one. The room was blistering hot and there was no way to regulate the heat; I went down several times to ask for assistance and I was met with a blank stare as if I was asking for their first born. Zero care and less of a concern to make it more comfortable.

Overflowing with anger, I express extreme dissatisfaction with the attitude of the hotel staff in this place, which not only feels outdated and reminiscent of Soviet times but is also permeated with blatant racism towards non-European guests. Their behavior is incredibly unprofessional and demeaning. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone who values respect and human dignity. The staff at this hotel in Poland exhibits shocking behavior: they prohibit guests from sitting at shared tables, pressure them to purchase overpriced alcohol, deny adequate portions of food, serve terrible meals comparable to those found in dubious establishments, speak condescendingly, and even threaten to involve the police, as if we were here illegally, despite paying a premium and showing respect to everyone. Meanwhile, nearby European guests are allowed to act without reproach, even when their behavior disrupts others. This experience is based on two visits, each lasting two weeks, to this particular place. After the first visit, complaints were filed, and it was promised to address the issue. However, as the practice on the second day of the second visit shows, nothing has changed. They have become even more insolent and incompetent. At any available opportunity, one desires to distance themselves from this place. In personal travels, including in Warsaw, I have never encountered such treatment. Staff elsewhere have always been friendly and professional.

IF you’d like to experience what 1980’s Poland felt like, Gromada is a place to go! Sulky staff rolling their eyes in answer to your questions, waiters banging plates on tables, lifts that are outof order and really, really vintage rooms. Not recommended!

Good size of rooms, very clean and quiet. Medium hard mattress, good pillows. Friendly and efficient staff, spacious lobby area. Good restrooms in the basement. Ok breakfast, decent variety and very clean. Central location in a quiet spot.

The rooms are very spacious and clean but very old fashioned. The rooms do not have air con and they are really hot at night. Breakfast was very nice and a good selection available. Situated very near to the city center and several places to eat and drink.
